Accessibility Statement

Duncker & Humblot is committed to designing its websites https://www.duncker-humblot.de and https://duncker-humblot.iunworld.com as well as all its electronic book publications »accessible« in terms of meeting the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and strive for the consistent implementation of the minimum standard »AA« (»double A«). Legal basis is the so called »Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz« (i.e. »Accessibility Strengthening Act«), which derives from the »European Accessibility Act« (EAA) and comes into effect in Germany on June 28, 2025.

Note on Electronic Publications

After June 28, 2025, all electronic editions of book publications published by Duncker & Humblot will be accessible in accordance with the requirements arising from the »Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz«. This includes, among others, technical requirements such as machine-readable text, alternative texts for images and graphics, embedded document metadata, and the PDF standard of »PDF/UA«.

However, note that currently our program comprises around 14,500 available ebooks. Unfortunately we are unable to retroactively meet the requirements of the »Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz« for all non-accessible publications which were published before June 28, 2025.
